Cheapest Electric Heater

Does anyone know what the cheapest type of electric heater is?

I have single glazing at the rear of the house, which includes the children's bedroom and although there is gas central heating, the rooms lose heat quickly, particularly in the night. I am looking to get some additional heaters for use to warm the place up quickly and also to have in the boys room at night, but I am looking for the most cost effective type. Is there a difference in running costs for convector/halogen etc?

Thanks in advance

The Kilowatt (KW) rating is what you need to look at. The higher the rating the greater the heat and greater the cost to run.

Using the gas central heating for longer periods will almost certainly be cheaper.

Thanks for the quick reply :D I will check out the KW ratings.

The trouble with the central heating is that it doesn't get the place warm quickly enough and in this weather it chills really quickly. I think the new heaters will spend most of the year in the loft but for a short term sheat blast in this chill, they are definitely needed!
