Are you finding keeping your house clean a total nightmare in this weather?

With this freeze we've had ( and now the thaw) are you finding keeping your house a real nightmare? I know I am! Despite taking all shoes off at the door, its like a never ending battle. By the time I have cleaned through to the kitchen, the hall and lounge floors are filthy again, and everywhere just feels dirty! Cant open the windows to get some fresh air through unless I want to freeze, it really making me down!! LOL. Im not an OCD cleaner but I do like my house to be clean and fresh! Any tips? I have a cat who seems to revel in making the house as dirty as his paws when he returns inside, and I have had newspaper down in the hallway over the laminate to try and keep it cleaner, but all of it fails!!
CC limits £26000
Long term CC debt £0
Total low rate loan debt £3000
Almost debt free feeling, priceless.
Ex money nightmare, learnt from my mistakes and never going back there again, in control of my finances for the first time in my adult life and it feels amazing.

Have you had a look at the flylady thread on oldstyle for cleaning routine tips? I have a zero tolerance policy of shoe wearing in the house and have managed to house train the kids re shoes, bags and coats when they come in (just).
Open the windows for 10 mins in a morning to get a blast of fresh air through (healthy from a flu/colds point of view) and hoover round, straighten settees, cushions, coffee table etc then close windows. takes 10 mins tops and makes a difference. Don't worry after that just do it once a day and kick the cat out! (kidding...)Save £12k in 2012 no.49 £10,250/£12,000
