Wasn't there some kind of rumbling late last year that the supermarkets were going to be offering you a voucher for the second of a BOGOF item if you didn't want it straight away, so you could collect it on a subsequent visit. Clever ploy - make sure the customer returns, to get their "free" item! Chances are they won't be leaving the store with just that item!

Maybe they're about to introduce that.

Not sure if it was just one of the supermarkets, or all of them.

Sainsbury's did this on bakery French sticks towards the end of last year. No doubt if this was considered a success it will be back on more fresh items this year

Would it not make sense then to go shopping with a friend or relative and make the most of the offers you will use? This way you can get all the bogofs you want and only pay half price and less wastage.

I do this with my mum occassionally.

I've done this too occasionally but otherwise I won't buy - it just annoys me when offers are only aimed at towards large families. Seems to happen a lot on things like satsumas and I only want a small bag.

Dont get me wrong i have a family of 5 to feed, but we dont want the same foods day in day out just because they were on offer. I tried some of the rubber chicken recipes of the old style board but kids ended up begging for something different by the time i had used up the chicken and wehad not had it every day i had frozen some of the meals.
