Why is all the good stuff in London - help!

Hi all
I really want to treat my friend to a girly day for her birthday in march. Looking on lastminute they have cupcakes and cocktail making experiences, chocolate maiking, pole dancing lessons, wine tasting days, combining hair styling with tea at the ritz etc etc etc - all of which she would love.
Trouble is they are all London based and we are between Derby and Notts. Why aren't their any good 'experience' packages around here? Many of the london ones included dinner/drinks etc so worked out better value then doing things seperately ie hair style then dinner. Plus I like the idea of an 'experience' where the treats are all under one roof. But of course by the time we have added on train/hotel it would cost a fortune
Anyone know of anything in a similar vein that is closer to home?

Hi Roxie, not sure if it's much help but if you go onto the Virgin Experience Days website you can search by location for this kind of thing - I saw a couple of things like perfume making days near you, not sure if she'd like that?!0

Have you thought about Eden Hall near Newark? Not overnight, but a day spa who do experience packages and the food is lovely0
