Advice on accident.

hi, yesterday morning as my husband was driving around a corner he skidded on the ice and bumped into a parked car. He was going very slow about 5mph. No one was in the parked car. There was a small dent in the parked cars door, our car had no damage at all. We didn't have a pen in the car (silly of us I know), We waited about 15mins for someone to show up, but had to get our nephew to school, so we put all the cars details into my phone, took our nephew to school, where we borrowed a pen and paper and we drove back to the scene but the car had gone.
We went to the police station and reported the accident and gave them the other cars details. We also contacted our insurers to tell them there may be a claim.
Is this all we have to do ? Does anyone know what will happen next?
Thanks in advance

As far as I know, you've fulfilled your legal obligations. Keep an eye on the forums for the next few days in case someone jumps on with a story about how someone hit their car and then disappeared without leaving any details..... :)

Your hubby has technically committed an offence by leaving the scene of the accident. However, IMHO, it doesnt sound like theres anything more you could have done.

Did you take a picture of the damage to the other car? Might be useful if a claim does come in. Is the damage noticable?

The offence you refer to is "failing to stop" (though he did stop!), not "leaving the scene of an accident"!
