It is either stuck to the wall by using large dollops of plaster or screwed to batons. see here.

I was also wondering how to attached plasterboard to brick/Breeze block.
In our garage which is half internal(breeze block)/ and half external(single brick), I mean it sticks out of the main part of the house.
Anyway the house builders have attached some sort of fibre board(maybe plasterboard) directly to the breezeblock, but only done in a couple of places(on breeze block, and under the stairs). I would like to do the whole garage.
So my question is what would they have used, firstly as the board and secondly to attach it??

    Thanks

Satpal, I would follow the advice in the website offered by espresso. We used 1200 x 2400 12.5mm square edged plasterboard which was screwed onto timber studwork, and 'dot and dabbed' onto blockwork. This is then skimmed by a plasterer. What a brilliant idea Windym. Never thought to do that before. We are always buying materials from our local builders merchant. Thanks for that

You should'nt dryline a single brick external wall, you have to put a damproof membrane on first.

ie; plastic sheeting then a studding then screw the board to the studding.
