  • What date did your Mum move in?
    How long was the Tenancy Agreement for?
    Has she signed another Tenancy since the original one?
    How long is left, of the fixed period?

    The LL cannot just decide to up the rent or force your Mum to move into another property.

    Unfortunately more info is needed before you can be advised accordingly.
    My home is usually the House Buying, Renting and Selling Forum where I can be found trying to (sometimes unsucessfully) prove that not all Estate Agents are crooks. With 20 years experience of Sales/Lettings and having bought and sold many of my own properties I've usually got something to say ;)

    Yes how long has your mum lived there, you need to establish what type of tenancy she has. If she has been there a long time then she may have a lot more rights.
