Fingers crossed we don't get stung!
Good to hear you have someone on the way. Did you ask if there is a callout fee and what that is and is there a price per half hour or price per hour depending? If you've asked that and were happy with the answers you should not get stung but if you think the price is inflated ask him to justify it BEFORE you pay. Trouble is all too many people in the "emergency callout" business see the insurance co waving at them oer the horizon and think its justifiable to hike the price accordingly as they person they charge will "get it back anyway". Thats not always the case. It's an old converted flat and we know the tanks for this flat and the one below and all the mains pipework etc,. are up there as when we moved in we had to have some work done and it was all done up there. That was around 2 years ago though so we guess the work done at the time must have been okay or there would have been a problem before now....?I guess it must be the extremely cold weather putting strain on the pipes?Huge thx for taking the time to reply at least we can ask some obvious questions when the plumber gets here and then just hope for the best...!

Bit late now but just a FYI, next time you see water coming thru a ceiling get a small starhead/phillips screwdriver and punch a hole up thru the ceiling with it wherever the water first appears at, catch any water with buckets, this may just do enough to save your ceiling as it will stop water building up and spreading across it.Norn Iron Club member No 3530

^^^ That of course on the assumption that you know where the light fitting wires run so you're not going through them!
