Tuesday 12.01.2010 - What small DFW things have you done today !?!

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important :D

Morning

Hope you don’t mind me starting the thread, but I have to get to work in a mo.

Hugs to those that need them, hi to all the regular posters and welcome to any newbies.

Today I have/will:

· Check online banking – made a payment to a debt (while the money is sat in my account)
· Enter comps online
· Daily scratches
· Meals from storecupboards
· Have a NSD – must do this only 14 days left at work
· Start work as soon as I get there
· Read newspapers online
· Washing on 30 – except for towels and t-shirts which need 40 to kill bugs etc
· Read more of my library book
· Look for a job – must do this only 14 days left at work

Think that is about it but I am sure there is more to do, take care everyone

Candy xxxx

Debts at the start of my journey - about £23,000 lightbulb moment 01.03.2007 (1st payment to CCCS)..Debt Free Date 25.06.2013 Deposit savings £17,000/£30,000

    Hi Guys

HM Bread and HM Sultana Bread (Mixed in Breadmaker and baked in halogen oven) - BOth for boys and Dad cos still eating from SW plan

Bfast and Lunch cooking (Khichri with poached egg and split pea soup) All from storecupboard and FREE on SW.

Free excercise - I've dug out all my old excercise DVD and Videos and making sure I do one a day for variety.

Only spend today should be petrol for school runs (start tomorrow) But I haven't spent a penny of my petrol budget in nearly 5 weeks now.

Dug out and old silky duvet cover and will be cutting it up to make into pretty silky bags - target is to make £125 of "product" to sell per week. I will sell them when I come off benefits. (£125 is a 1/1000 of my mortgage) Gonna craft myself to MFW.

Got SW tonight - but its on a countdown.

Found a blog site to start my new SW blog (lots of people ask me for my recipes so thought this would be easiest way)

    Keep warm Guys

  • Morning all,

Have checked online banking (nothing changed from yesterday!)
Bought a pack up in for lunch
Will investigate clicks and scratches at lunchtime (sounds very interesting!)
Going out tonight but tickets to panto were free so big thumbs up (will take christmas chocs instead of buying naughty sweeties)

thought this would make you laugh...

Got home last night to find that my boyfriend had been shopping in morrisons and bought 6 bottles of evian as they were "only a quid and I thought they were a real bargain!" Personally I think the free stuff out of the tap is a real bargain but there we go!
