Will do a malware scan tomorrow. So far spybot search and destroy shows the pc is clean. Am doing adaware scan now. I know they will not show any trojans just want to see if there is anything on pc.

    At the top it says
    Shockwave Flash

    File name: NPSWF32.dll Shockwave Flash 10.0 r42

    That's the same as mine.
(The 'NPSWF32.dll' is for Windows users, it is libflashplayer.so for my Linux computer).

Well that means that the flash plugin is already installed in Firefox, so there's no point trying to install it again in Firefox.

I don't think that flash is your problem.
Are you sure that you can't play YouTube videos using Firefox?

Have you tried Unistalling Flash Player (Add/Remove Programs) and try Reinstalling It.

    This works for me sometimes.

I have zonealarm. Have checked the program control setting. Can't see flash player or adobe on the list but everything is ticked with the tick or ? mark. Nothing has the x mark apart from the obvious.
