scrap metal?

There are some scrap metal collectors that are so keen for the stuff they'll come round almost anywhere locally and pick it up from there. I've seen some going house to house and pushing for people to get in touch with them about any bits and bobs and whatever. I get flashbacks to Steptoe and Son. Could get one of those round if you can drag it to at least someplace outside the workplace at the time of collection, or if your boss is OK with it they could come on-site (though maybe pushing his genorosity?). If they have a phone number you could get them to give you a quote based on the description to see if its worth it.0

I work for sheet metal workers, we have a 6m skip for scrap metal. It costs us nothing, and when it is emptied, once a month or so. we get anywhere between £150-400 back for the scrap metal. Tell your boss, it's worth some cash. Shouldn't have it taken for nothing.
We keep stainless steel and aluminium separate, one big drum of Ali scraps gets us about £40 and the stainless good stuff gets about £100 for a drum of it. these are stashed up and taken in the back of our van to the scrap yard.
Scrap metal sales basically pay for our Xmas party and any other social events that we do throughout the year for the lads.0 -

also im not stealing as its getting skipped anyway
It's very likely to be mild steel or low grade steel and a quick way to determine whether it's steel or aluminium is to use a magnet. Mild steel/low grade steel is strongly magnetic and aluminium will have no magentic pull on your magnet................"simples".:D10 Dec 2007 - Led Zeppelin - I was there. :j [/COLOR]:cool2: I wear my 50 (gold/red/white) blood donations pin badge with pride.
