Hi
My 2 year old daughter pushed a remote control into the video recorder when a tape was playing. I managed to get it out, but now the video is not playing properly. The picture is really jumpy but the sound is working fine.
Is there anything that I can do to sort this? I dont want to take it to a repair man as the video wasn't that expensive and dont want to pay more on getting it fixed than it is worth. Am I better just buying another?
Thanks in advance for any help.

you could try taking the top off and cleaning the heads
used to do it every now and again (before the world went dvd), amazing the difference it can make"If you really want to hurt your parents and you don't have nerve enough to be homosexual, the least you can do is go into the arts."0 -
Hmmm. Dont think cleaning what isnt dirty will work..but wont cost anything to try. Could be the heads are not aligned anymore or the loading mechanism is damaged so that the tape isnt seating correctly. If you do want to have a go you can always take it apart and see if there is any physical damage. DONT FORGET TO UNPLUG IT FIRST>>>>>>>
And dont touch anything that may give you a shock...Ive been there before and you definitely want to play it safeI have nothing better to do!!!!

I was thinking more along the lines that the tape that was in the machine scuffed the heads, and a bit of a polish might clean them up (speaking from experience)"If you really want to hurt your parents and you don't have nerve enough to be homosexual, the least you can do is go into the arts."0 -
Could be ....like I said
