Hi all
I am wondering if anyone knows what the best thing to use for international phonecalls is? My mother lives in Zimbabwe and I usually buy the post office phonecards to ring her but I have been told there are cheaper things to use? I have seen Firstnumbers advertised but am not sure about them. I would really appreciate a bit of help on this. Sadly Skpye is not possible as she only has very limited internet at work meaning we are also unable to chat on any messenger type thing. Thank you in advance for any help

Try "Connect" cards. I don't know their charges to Zimbabwe, but at least they charge no daily maintenance. Not all that easy to find, though, and I've no idea if you can do that online (if you have any online success, do post how--I'd like to do the same0

I didn't think anyone used phonecards any longer and I have no idea of the sort of prices they charge.
However, I'm pretty sure the MSE International CallChecker will provider numerous, probably cheaper, ways to call Zimbabwe (see HERE) and, more importantly, most don't involve paying unnecessarily large amounts in advance.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -
Sorry have taken so long to get back, it has been a busy few days! Thanks for all your help, I will have a look. Yes I will look for the connect one and let you know if I find anything
.
Actually a lot of people still use phonecards
mainly because it was an easier option but I am now starting to see cheaper ways! Grocery Challenge: January: /£2140
