Well i think for the risk of saving £32 it's worth ago. I have it from a few forums that they mark these down as gift so they "Should" evade the Duty Tax. I Lso already have an SP and i believe that that will charge it. The DS is also defo Multi region. It will have a 12 month warrenty and it is honoured in this country. The system is portable and therefore ment to be travelled with. I will update when it arrives etc. ASDA in NI don't sell them.

Slightly less risky than just nicking one from the shops but no more legal ;) I think buying in the UK is the safe and sensible bet here.
    Can I help?

Over on avforums.com they have been discussing this deal - it turns out the currency convertor is wrong on the dvdstars website! The local price is $170 Canadian dollars = £83.25 on todays rates. They charge you in Canadian dollars on your credit card.

Maybe not such a great deal considering possible import charges and CC charges. You'll also have to buy a UK charger for this import model.

Having said that, avforums have a 10% discount code for this retailer...

What is the risk? That you'll get charged Duty, it's hardly a risk if i do then i'll pay it if not hen happy days. And to compare it to nicking one from the shops?!?!? No one is doinf anything illegal here if there duty to be paid then it will be paid, if not then there isn't.;) ;);););)

Just a couple of quick points -

    1. The DS IS multi-region, games from any country play on any machine without modification.

    2. The power connector on the DS Lite is specific to the Lite - it is NOT the same as the standard DS or SP. A USB charger has not been released in the UK yet, they are however available on eBay. Alternativley, I believe a seperate mains charger is available.

    3. I own two Lites now :D both UK shop bought. I considered the Stars offer but did not consider the saving worth it. I have had to change my first Lite twice now due to stuck pixels, a ten minute job versus weeks of wait had I ordered from Canada (where DVDStars are based).

    4. One of mine was from Game, the other from Gamestation. Both have excellent, good value packages (Gamestation is slightly better value)

Hope that helps a little. Its an awesome little machine
