I wander if anyone would be able to advise me with my husbands income based jsa.
Basically my husband claims and i work part time. It is classed as a joint claim but only he has to sign on. I every fortnight have to fill in my hours and pay, which is then deducted from the overall benefit of just over £100.
Anyway my question is as we are married do we need to do a joint claim. Sorry if i sound dumb but i dont know alot of the rules and regulations. The reason im asking is if it wasnt a joint claim would we be better off as i might not have to have my wages deducted.
Probably wishful thinking i know. Thanks for any help on this.

Yes you do need to have a joint claim, but even you were not married you would have to have a joint claim if you were a couple living together.0 -
HI
You don't have to be married to make a joint claim. Its a joint claim if you are living together and yes for a joint claim they take your income into account.
You don't have to sign on as its your husband who is looking for work. The Cabbage
