Hi, I have been trying to claim back bank charges from natwest and recently sent tham my financial statement form and copies of wage slips etc. but on friday i got a letter saying they haven't recieved it and that my time has run out to claim. There is a number at the top of the letter but I can't phone them as my phone line has been cut off.
I tried phoning them on my mobile but they have a long winded speech about the test case and how they won and before I had even got through all that my credit ran out. There's no email address and now I don't know what to do.
I have copies of what I sent but is there any point in me sending it all again? How do I know they haven't recieved it or this is just another way out for them?
Thanks
Sarah

Did you send it recorded delivery?
Your time has not run out to claim, that's nonsense. Is that exactly what they said?0 -
Well, it actually says.....As we have not recieved your completed customer financial statement we have assumed that you no longer wish to be considered for financial hardship and have updated our records accordingly. Then they waffle on about the test case.
I sent it normal first class as i didn't have enough money on me to send it recorded0 -
It is not untypical for banks to mislay financial statements in this situation.
I would write back and assure them that you sent it, express your surprise and disappointment that they decided you no longer wished to be considered for financial hardship based purely on their own assumption without asking for confirmation first and that you would expect them to accept another financial statement.0 -
How about a certificate of posting? That's free from the PO....I sent it normal first class as i didn't have enough money on me to send it recorded
If you did, you can claim from RM for the undelivered mail, and the compensation you get back will more than cover the cost of another stamp plus the RD charge

Thanks for the replies, I will write to them aswell as sending copies of the statement and other paperwork.
