Electric Useage Question - Seems High!!
Hey All
Im with British Gas - Pre Paid Key
On the 31st of December i put £40 on the meter and just 10 days later it was all gone, this works out approx £120 per month on electric , now i dont have any gas so i exspect the bill to be higher, but i was budgeting more £90-100?
I do have electric storage heaters and electric water heater but these all set to come on at night under econemy 7.
Just was wondering if this is normal or does seem a bit high ?
Like i say everything is electric so i do exspect a higher than normal bill but seems a bit OTT
Regards

Could you be paying a previous debt off hence the pre paid meter0

How many storage heaters / size of house? How many of you in the house? Do you have electric shower? Many variables to what you can expect to pay.
£40 in 10 days seems reasonable to me to expect. On I measure my last week on economy 7 tariff reads at £36.71 and that's only 7 days. But I'm in a 3 bed semi/family of 5. Was running 3 storage heaters.0 -
Cheers for the replys . it is just me in the flat . and its a 1 bedroom but has quite an open plan living area .. which has 2 storage heaters and the bedroom as one so three heaters in total + the water heater but thats only on a couple of hours.
so i suppose its about right going on whta people are saying

To heat my water and 2 storage heaters, my economy 7 uses around 30 units a night currently (with some background electric I know). At 4.5p, that is about £1.35 a day or £40 a month.
Prepay will be much higher I presume. You need to know your consumption though. Do you know that ?0
