Depression is a 'notifiable condition' so if you the condition has deteriorated then you must inform the DVLA. Then they can decide on the basis of evidence whether is it right to continue to agree to the issue of a licence.

Any other course of action is quite foolish - especially if you are relying on the opinion of anonymous forum-dwellers who have (a) insufficient information and (b) insufficient medical expertise to give accurate advice.

Also bear in mind the issues concerning the validity of your insurance policy if you have not fulfiled your responsibility to keep the DVLA aware of any newly diagnosed notifiable condition or worsening of an existing notifiable condition.

Yes I saw my GP today, who was very helpful - I can't remember exact phrasing, but mine aren't classed as suicidal thoughts as I'm not actually thinking of ways to kill myself (and therefore not planning to either), there's another name for it which I can't remember, will get it later if anyone's interested, anyhoo long and short of it is there's no need for me to inform DVLA. I trust my doctor, she deals with stuff like this a lot.

Depression and axiety are only notifiable under certain conditions, that being the only one I may have filled.
