Word Document Query

Hi

I have been sent an application form that has been saved on word, I want to complete the application for and email it back, however the documents seems to be locked as it is not allowing me input new information.

How can I rectify this issue?

Or, open doc and go into properties, and remove the tick in the read only box. This doesnt always work.

Why not ring whoever sent it?

You might find that they want a hand written submission.

No success unfortunately, the author of the document wants it emailed to him, however he does not know how to input information to it.

Ask him to send you an unlocked Word document so that you can fill it in and e-mail back.

Is this part of the entrance testing??? See if you can figure out how to unlock it? ;)

If he opens the doc at his end, go to the 'Tools' menu at the top, then choose 'Unprotect Document' and save it, he can then send you a version you can edit. Try it from your end first, but it is likely password protected.
