Job Grant and In Work Credit...

Can anyone tell me if it is possible to claim both of these, please?

I would have though it would be one or the other but I've read posts on here, and another forum, saying they received both...

The direct.gov site doesn't make it clear and a google search revealed one one site that says they cannot be claimed together...

Also, is it essential to go in person to sign off IS, or can it be done over the phone?

TIA :),

I thought that they were both payable - but I'm not 100%! It reads that way to me on the Direct site as well. ;)

    Which site says they cannot?
    Gone ... or have I?

It was these two that threw me but the first gives no indication of where it is from and the second isn't altogether clear:

Glad you read it that way dmg (it doesn't state it outright anywhere, does it?) - it seemed a bit too good to be true, I thought, but I'll be very pleased if they can be claimed together! :D

hello...ifg youre talkinga bout the job grant of 250 then yes i claimed that and in wiork credit together..go and speak to you lone parent advisor or your advisor that you deal with...plus yuo could possibly get a 4 week run on in rent and council tax...your best bet is talking to your advisor at the jobcentre...and they can fill out the forms for you :)

I got both Bestpud when I came off IS 3 years ago and my friend came off IS last August and she also got both.:)

Don't see any reason why you would not providing you fulfil the criteria for both

Yeah, it's a real bonus...just one word of advice - don't get used to the £40pw as it's a bit of a shocker when it stops!!!

Yes, I had thought that may be a problem with it - its actually quite a lot of money to have and then lose...

I think I may use a separate account so it's not quietly absorbed into the household budget!

I also got both!! Yeah try set up a different account to get the IWC paid into or every week have a standing order set up to take it out your account and pay it into another one. Then use as and when you need to!
