Anyone know a good free audio editor?

take a look on download.com <<< great source for programs, and almost without exception they are free or offer a free trial

Thanks, I downloaded it and it seems good, although it is a trial version it's fully functional and it will probably take six months or more for me to reach the trial version's limit.

Completely free and in constant development. An excellent audio editing tool, I'm sure you'll get a few more people mention it.

I can also thoroughly recommend Audacity. It's well written and easy to use. No idea if it can convert files to WMA, though...

Just save the output as a WAV and encode it using dbPowerAmp or similar. That way have a lossless source file that you can re-edit and encode from.
