DVD burning soft

Hi all im curently using nero to burn divX or Xvid to dvd. It does all the transcoding and burning in one but just recently it has'nt been 100% ie starting to burn disc but not completing or saying its burning and rendering the disc unusble although theres nothing burnt onto it. Can anyone suggest replacement soft as im getting a bit sick of binning unusable discs??

i use winavi. it converts anything to anything. if you just want to burn one film to a disc, it will encode it straight to dvd ready for burning.

if however you mean burning xvids to dvd as xvids for use on a suitable player then why not try uninstalling nero and reinstalling it.

Hi,

I had exactly the same problem with nero 7 a few months back. What I decided to do to get around the problem and also to avoid the long processing times in converting xvid to dvd compliant file, was to purchase a dvd player that plays xvid files. I picked one up for £35 from https://www.maplin.co.uk . All I do now is simply burn the xvid as an xvid file directly on to a CDR (most xvid files are about 700MB in size). I then play the movie on my xvid enabled dvd player.

This process saves me (a) time and (b) money as CDRs are less than DVDRs

Unfrotunately i had already bought a panasonic home cinema sytem with hard drive which does'nt play divx, as otherwise i would have done that but hey ho thanks for the suggestions.
