Microsoft Word?

I have Microsoft works on this PC and I'm not fussy on it.

I have a Windows 98 disc from my old computer, is there any way I can install, Word and Excell from that>

Thanks in advance.

No, that CD won't have Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.) on it.

If you want Office and want to save money get one of the older versions (Office 97, 2000, or XP) on eBay, which are much cheaper than Office 2003, the latest version. Office 97 is generally recognised as the first 'good' version following Office 95 and the later versions add more functionality. If you buy from eBay make sure you get a genuine CD with Certificate of Authentication (COA).

Good luck Needmoney. Found myself in similar position years ago. Luckily I did have MS Office ultra old version from when I had Windows 3.1, and it was still better than the newest version of Works! Have upgraded to Office 2003 now, due to a great deal at my old employment, and suspect that will be me for some time.
However, there are loads of other office suites out there, and some are free, such as openoffice - I haven't tried this personally. However, am sure that some nice person will be along shortly with more qualified advice.

Open office is fine. Has programs which do the same job as the microsoft office ones and is compatible with their files. It can also convert files to pdf with a single click.

Not as good as microsoft office but £200-300 cheaper.

    Thanks Anne_Marie and brinky.
I cannot get to grips with Works at all, that's progress for you huh!
I really miss both excel and word but fortunately they were both for home and pleasure - not work.
