Faulty TV

I bought a TV from additionsdirect on 8/11/09. It was opened and installed on the wall on the 21/12/09 as it was a Christmas present. It broke down 1 week later. Additionsdirect are currently refusing to replace the TV saying it must be repaired as it wasn't reported within 28 days.

Can anyone let me know what my rights are please. Thx.

If they're offering a repair, you have to accept this. It's highly unlikely you would be considered within the 'reasonable time' to reject the TV, even given that it wasn't used until just before Christmas.

Same sort of thing happened with a 42" LG Plasma Tv that i purchased last year,this brand new Plasma lasted all of Ninety days before it went Capput.

The company tried a repair,they then got back in contact with me telling me that the cost of repair was not economical,they offered a replacement or a refund,i took the refund.

They have the right to try to repair the Tv..wait and see what happens and post back to us.
