I can't fix it, any idea's on who can??

Hi,

I posted yesterday about a problem with my Dell PC and had some really helpful replies. I followed the instructions as far as Malware, it removed 17 infected items, but unfortunately I can no longer access the internet at all to do the next steps.

As I'm not very technically minded and fear I will make the problems worse, I have decided to take it to someone to be fixed.
I was wondering if anyone knew of any good fixing services in the Sutton/Croydon area? or if anyone had used the technical service at PC World before?

Any suggestions would be great.
Thanks
V

Although i have never used the Tech guys at Pc world before i have heard some real horror stories about them,i would suggest taking it to a local independent specialist.I had to have a pc repaired before because it had been infected with a very nasty Virus,i was going to take it to pc world until i heard the horror stories the independent specialist i went to charged me £42.00 and it works fine.

    Good luck.

  • Do not under any circumstances take it to PC World.

There are plenty of independent repair shops in the area, though as I'm not local I can't make a recommendation. If no one gives you a personal recommendation, I would call a few of the companies in the list I linked to and ask them for a quote.

Does this mean that the machine is now booting up past the BSOD?
  • Hi, No i can't even get to the BSoD anymore. I can turn it on, i can see my desktop items and no matter what button i press from there it freezes. I have tried it in normal mode and in safe mode.
