Uk Dog friendly Self Catering!!!

Hi All,

Please help, Looking to go self catering this August, one week, 2 adults, 1 9 yr old and Meg ( Golden Retriever ).
Cornwall, Devon or New Forest preferred. Anyone know or have used any places that fit this bill and you would recommend it would be much appreciated.
Ideally a cottage and with an enclosed private garden for Meg to run around.
Also, dont laugh, but a small budget preferably a fair bit lower than £500.
I am only trying to help

  • I haven't been here yet, but have booked for April, as I walked in the area last spring and thought it wonderful at that time of year.

Several different cottages on this place in Dorset. (Not one of the areas you listed, but still south). Seems very dog friendly. Very rural. Between Sherborne and Dorchester, for shops and restaurants. Plenty of places, including coast to visit by car.

See website for: whitehorse farm. (Sorry can't post link as new user)

Cheap in April; maybe too pricey for August.
  • Have checked website I mentioned and I see that the 2-bed Toad Hall cottage is still available for some dates in August: £505.

There are cheaper cottages, 1 bedroom plus sofa bed or Z-bed, but that doesn't really work for 9-year-old going to bed first, so I assume you'd need the two-bed.

Not sure you'll find a 2-bed under £500 at that time of year, but maybe someone can come up with something .... Good luck!

With a budget of £500 for August your have to shop around, but it can be done.

Depending on what type of accomodation you like

we holiday a lot in Devon, and have always took ourdog with us.

    Couple to start you off

ignore the camping bit, the site has 4 cottages for rent, pets allowed, the 2 x 2 bed are £430 (plus Meg) for a week Aug. They do look nice, staying later in yr there.
Don't think the cottage garden will be big enuf, but def worth looking at the site, its based about 9 miles from Princetown - where Dartmoor Prison is, 3 miles from Tavistock, beautiful historic town, 40 mins, exeter, 40 mins Plymouth and there are a lot of attractions that also allow dogs in. xx

They've got a lot of sites,
priced Dawlish Sands week in Aug £641

Hoseasons - both cottages and parks brocheres, a lot of accomodation with them is pet friendly.

Another cottage company - welcome cottages.

Hope that givesyou a base to start from
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx
