  • Hi
A decent kitchen fitter will sort out all the work required and project manage it for you.
    Where abouts are you?

Even if you can't do the whole lot, even doing things like pulling the old tiles off the wall, stripping up vinyl flooring, taking old cupboard doors off etc will all save you money as it's less that a contractor has to do.

We've done our whole kitchen ourselves so far, new floor/units/doors/appliances/tiling etc including two new double sockets and moving the sink about 3 feet so it sits on a different wall and not next to the cooker..

We had a quote for £6000 for the work to be done, and so far the materials etc have cost us £800 with not a penny spent on labour. The whole lot will come to under £1000 by the time I'm done :)

The point I'm making is there's always something you can do yourself, however insignificant. What are you looking to have done? If you're happy with the layout, why not ust change the worktops and doors/handles? really cheap and easy to do!!

And someone to PM it. You might be happy and confident enough and have the time to do that. The OP may not.

    Cheers

PS You never did answer me on the other thread about what you actually spent £ 300 on for addy and grout etc. I was just mildly curious.

Thats an unreal comparions TBH. To do a proper comparison you need to add up the hours you've spent and multiply them by your hourly pay by your employer (even if you are self employed). Then you will know what it has really cost you. Not being critical but peeps often forget to cost for their own time and it does represent a very real cost in £ notes.
