Tesco credit card

I have recently applied for a Tesco credit card as I want to take advantage of the 0% for 12 months on purchases deal. However I have been reading through the Summary Box on the Tesco credit card website and note that although it says the the introductory rate on purchases is "0% for 12 months from account opening" I also see that below that it says the interest free period is "maximum 51 days for purchases if you pay your balance in full and on time, and have paid the previous month's balance in full and on time".

Now I'm confused! If I make a purchase of say £2000 this month how long will it be before I am charged any interest, i.e. 51 days or 12 months???

Please help!

During the 0% period you need to pay the minimum amount each month by the payment due date.If not you will most probably lose the 0% offer. To make sure you do not miss any payments, set up a direct debit for the min amount.
Also, find out exactly the date when the 0% ends and make sure you arrange to repay the entire amount before that date.

The 51 day rule kicks in after the 0% period ends. If you make any purchases and you pay the entire amount by the payment due date (this will be max 51 days from the previous statement date) then you do not pay any interest. If you do not then you will pay interest on the statement amount from the date of purchase.
