    Hi
Just wanted to say welcome to dfw and congrats on being so proactive about making changes with your finances! You'll have lots of things to research/switch etc and keep busy and then eventually you'll have to settle down to the routine of it all - which is where this place comes in to provide motivation, support and encouragement (and some laughs!).

    Best of luck

    Kath :D

  • Thanks - I thought I might start a diary thread on Saturday to help keep me on track as well - I'm going to need it! I've transferred some balances today onto the 0% card, so I guess I'm saving already.

    Hi Mrs A

I was thinking - if you can cut your groceries by a 1/3 (not impossible - as others have said visit the old style board, make weekly menu plans and stick to them and don't fall down the 'just popping out with my switch card to buy a loaf of bread' trap because you will allways come back with loads more than you intend!), anyway if you can lose some of the grocery expenditure you could clear the store card and catalogue very quickly. You are likely paying horrible interest and also it would feel really refreshing/motivational to clear two debts!

    Welcome to MSE
