Take points off driving licence or not- that is the question..

My three years is up- the three points can come off my licence now- but is it worth it - £25 to do it- plus the cost of the photographs- and then i have to renew the new photocard licence every ten years.

Is it worth it i ask????????

I am a fee charging WoM Mortgage broker.
I now no longer give information and opinion within the Mortgage boards, because a number of posters who, having approached me professionally, agreed my fee-which has been been made very clear at the outset, taken my advice (normally cancelling a [home visit] meeting at short notice) have then approached one of the fee-free brokers on here to arrange the very same deal I have advised.
Whilst I totally concur with the ethos of "money saving"- abusing the goodwill of a professional who provides a quality service is taking it too far!

Actually it's four years. The points last three but the conviction stays on your licence for another year.

And no, in my opinion it isn't worth the hassle of removing them. After five most insurance companies don't care about them.

Ah - didn't spot that one!

Thanks for both the opinion and pointer!

dont pay to have them removed just send it off and say you have moved to your parents house and once it comes back send it off and say you have moved back again once the points are spent they will automatically come off ,mine did anyway

Yep as mentioned by pianeet - simply apply to change the address on your license and then when it arrives it will have the points removed, then simply move back home again!
  • Now that's the sort of answer i hoped for

Basically-my understanding is that in a years time i need a brief move to my parents and then my points will disappear for free

    Thanks
