Devon Holiday

Hi. We are going to Devon In June for two weeks. We will be staying in Paignton. We will be going as a family with our Grandson who will be three and a half when we go. Any advice on where we can take a lively three year old will be much appreciated. We will have a car so travelling is not going to be a problem. Thanks in advance for any ideas or tips

  • we were in that area when my daughter was same age lots of cheap things to do and lots of farms - pennywell farm, minituare ponlyland and woodlands , but for a nice lunch and a cheap day out House of Marbles was oddly entertaining - she still talks about it .. its just a marble museum but had marble runs / skittles etc outide for the kids to play on ! We spent days in Plymouth aswell and di some boats trips etc. There is loads to do by the sea as well all the usual fairs and rides etc ( even if you do have to keep paying a pound for them to go on the tweenies rides etc)

we went years ago when my ds was a lively 3 year old and he loved Paignton zoo. We also drove into Torquay and visited a penguin sanctuary on the seafront (can't remember the name of it though).
The beach is always a treat for young children aswell.
Lead me not into temptation, I can find the way myself.

wins - peroni bottle opener, peroni bowl, peroni coastersx2 and a vodkat cocktail kit,
would love to win something 'proper'!!

  • I second Paignton zoo. If you are prepared to travel a bit further there is diggerland just off junction 28 @ Cullompton (Diggerland is actually a few miles from here at Willand), there is also Creely which is near Exmouth, Escot near Ottery St Mary which is animal orientated.
  • Thanks to all of you for your suggestions. Will definitely give some of them a try
