WWW eBay buying from China

Just thought I would share this with the forum.

I ordered and paid for a pair of headphones off eBay back in August The supplier was in China, so yes I was a bit concerned re quality and was the product authentic but as the price was very good around a third of UK price I took the risk and paid my £23

After ordering, next day received email advice that the item has been dispatched with a postal tracking number. I attempted to track shipment but Royal Mail cannot track overseas incoming mail items. After around 4 weeks item had not arrived so I contacted supplier who confirmed dispatch and would check tracking from their end They confirmed item had left China so I waited. I also registered dispute with pay pal Around this time there was the postal problems in the UK so I agreed with supplier not to pursue pay pal dispute and let the dispute procedure lapse, hopefully item would eventually turn up!

In time, early December, as the headphones had not arrived I again contacted the supplier who immediately offered a refund or would attempt to resource item and ship again so I chose the replacement option.

Christmas Eve knock on door Royal Mail with parcel from China containing one genuine set of headphones, well they look and perform as genuine to my telecomm engineering background, not faked. No duty either.

Emailed supplier with praise and thanks They replied that all they only want are satisfied customers and its was all part of their service.

I deliberately have not mentioned supplier as this post is my personal experience of International trade and not spam. To date I have used many instances of web buying and so far had 100% satisfaction.

I buy a lot of stuff from china too, sometimes it can take an age to get delivered and other times its here within a few days. Like anything pick your supplier carfeully and you shouldn't go far wrong.
Everyones opinion is the most important.....no wonder nothing is ever agreed on.
  • Sennheiser by any chance?

I've had a couple of sets which were obviously fake when they turned up. Quality of packaging was below par. One was ok (actually quite good!) so we used them the other got a paypal refund as I needed to fit a new connector to it, it was seemingly too long !!

    Lucky for OP.

I have only ordered one item from far east, never again. A pair of Alpinestar gloves. They were fake, contacted suppler no response, contacted eBay and initiated a claim through Paypal. Company then stopped trading. Took gloves to shop and they kindly gave me a letter stating they were fake. Took photos and sent to manufacturer, they also confirmed them to be fake. Sent all this to Paypal and they decided in favour of the seller ........ !!!!!!? I can only surmise as seller had no cash in their account, it was their easiest option.
