Problem with Dell PC

Hi,
I have had a Dell 5150 for about 6 years and until had no problems. Every year I re-new my Mcaffe license but this year was told that I had a free 1 year license with O2 as i had taken out there broadband, installed as instructions stated. Internet was slower but no real problems, until 2 weeks ago when google would send me to random www.results2you.com pages and internet was dreadfully slow, computer freezing every couple of hours with strange noise coming fromo PC itself.
I decided to re-new my original Mcaffe license and purchased it online. Followed the instructions of removal of previous anti virus software given by Mcaffe, and started the download.
The problem now is that the download completes, then i have a page with says that Mcaffe is searching for any defects etc, I then get the dreaded blue screen of death and everything freezes. I have tried it 3 times now but still can't get past the blue screen. Does anyone have any idea's of what i can do? If there is a software I can run to clear up any problems etc. I am having to use my laptop.
Thanks
V

what is the exact BSoD error message? the number after the stop error will help diagnose the issue.
Will the PC boot in to safe mode?Beer meter E[.\.......]F0 -
The BSoD says, it has detected a virus that could harm your PC so it is now shutting down. I can get to the error page again if you want?
Pc will not boot in safe mode either.1k to 10,00k in 2010 challenge member 242!0 -
I have never heard of a stop error occuring with the message virus detected. usually they have a number 0x0000000e or similar. It sounds like it could be a fake blue screen message created by fake antivirus software. Your best bet is to download and install malwarebytes and run a scan with that, see how that goesBeer meter E[.\.......]F0

follow the instructions here: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=133269
it involves several stages - but you should be able to remove the malware - good luck!
Whatever you do - ignore any 'helpful' offers on your screen of a (paid for) download to fix the problem - the message is from the virus which is infecting your PC0 -
hey thanks for the that malware link..from last couple of weeks i have also suffered from warm...that infected heavily on pc...!0
