i bought a ipod from "very" (ex littlewoods) before xmas using the £30 voucher for new accounts that was posted on here, the problem is i paid using a debit card and confimed the payment of £119 from my account, i then recieved the ipod with an invoice for £150 so i checked my bank and they had taken the £150, i then rang very and told them what had happened and the credited my account with the £30, now i've had a bill for £30 in the post i've spoken to them again and they want the £30 back and say that the voucher was not for general use, so i've gone back at them saying they should not have taken money from my account when i only agreed to pay them the £119, do i have any rights here or do i have to pay them back the £30 they also will not take the ipod back because it has been used.

Littlewoods has stuck by its tough line that discount vouchers which spread over internet forum should not be honoured because of its online terms and conditions.

That post pretty much out lines the OP's case, although they used the vouchers outside of the T&C's. they accepted the contract anyways so cannot charge. Contact our local trading standards OP and pursue as in the link above.

  • i feel agreaved because i rang them as soon as i recieved the ipod and they refunded me, if they had not refunded me i would have sent it back before it was opened, as it was a xmas present

That was for a different voucher though. From what I remember someone had been given a code, as way as an apology, to use and they posted it here for anyone to use and everyone did and Littlewoods claimed that the code was only for one person to use. The £30 code they have at the moment is specifically for people to open New Accounts.
