You could make your own at a fraction of the cost and sell the surplus to friends and family :)

You mean Body butter? Yes, I've got a huge chunk of Shea Butter and will probably whip some up this week.
    I went away and now I'm back.:j:j
  • My beloved cars.

Normally only have sporty hatchbacks, been running around in a £300 1 litre car for the past year, totally reliable though, just not a prom queen :o

Used to have the top of the range phones, i settled with an old sony ericcsson for the past year also, in order to reduce my contract to £13. Paying your debts has to come first though, doesn't it.

I've been shopping from my sisters wardrobe for the last 12 months, haircut! if i did that i would lose my MS superpowers....but we will be debt free this year and that will be priceless
  • Oh plus i used to go to a top of the range gym, sacraficed that for home weight training (which has been tough for me), going to a cheaper pay as you go type gym, and walking as much as possible.

  • The only thing I really "treat" myself to is ciggies. So the time has come to try really hard to quit now.
  • I go shopping with a list - I no longer wander round the supermarket and buy whatver I want
Total debt at 01/01/2010 £34,262 (Excludes mega mortgage) Daily interest £12.42
02/10 Now £3.12 due to repayments, BT and :money:
    Olympic challenge £5081/£28,000 (18.15%)
Aim to lose 35 lbs from 01/01/2010 to 30/06/10 9.5/35
    1 debt in 100 days £2886/£3839
  • The only real sacrifice I'd say I've made since my LBM is holidays - we haven't had any time away from home for a couple of years now.
There are plenty of things I've stopped doing - e.g. impulse buys - but that just means I'm going without things I never had and which I certainly don't need.
I could manage without my motorbike and use the bus instead but I don't see the need at the moment - and it's always an option in an emergency.

I suppose we do live frugally compared to many people, but we try not to see it as sacrifice - that way the long haul to debt freedom doesn't feel quite so bad.

    Hello All

We lived off whoops items and made meals with whatever was reduced to 10p - i grew my hair and cut it only twice a year, we started growing our own veg and using grey water for watering and flushing the loo, i had no new clothes unless they were hand me downs and charity shop finds, we cut up all the credit cards and went cold turkey until the debts were cleared. Sometimes we survived on 4p noodles, reduced bread and cereal.

We walked and i learnt to forage for food, we did without birthday presents and christmas presents. But it was worth it - when we didnt owe anyone a penny. We still dont have credit cards now - its not a mistake we want to repeat.

I just wanted to say - its worth the struggle at the end - and the peace of mind you have when you are debt free is priceless.

Best Wishes to all who are still giving up things - there is a light at the other end of the tunnel
