Sump Oil Disposal - Help

In March my sister in law went on holiday and left her car on our drive for safety. Her stepson came round to change the oil for them while she was away. And he left the sump (is that the right word?) oil in an open container outside our house with a message that he didn't have anything in which to take the oil away?! but his dad would come and get it when they came back from holiday.
Well here we are at the end of June and the oil is still here -- I don't have anything to put it in and I don't know what to do with it -- Is there anywhere that I can get a very cheap container that would take an engines oil and what do I do with it?
Help please -- Its really starting to irritate me!

Any bottle with a lid that will seal, like a coke bottle mentioned above.Somehow,I don't think a milk carton will work, unless you can totally seal it to prevent your car being decorated in hint of Castrol!!!!
Your local tip will have an oil recycling container, into which you can safely dispose of it,once you get it there.
