Can anyone recommend a laptop...

for me that is going to play a game with the specification listed below. I have tried dowloaded new video drivers for my laptop and updating Vista but I think my current laptop won't play it. Am considering getting a second laptop, I wouldn't want to spend much more than £600.00 but it has to play the Sims 3 :o.

I have copied the specification from their website. Any recommendations would be gratefully received.

I even looked at a Mac, but the smallest one is only 13" screen and is still £800 and I am not sure whether that will play the game.

Many thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Dell studio 15 with cashback and a discount code. I have sims 3 and it works on that and mine cost £533 after discount and cashback. There is a lack of good graphic card laptops without spending 800+ But Dell studio is fine for it.
    Survey earnings total 2009 £417, 2010 £875, 2011 £574

A Mac won;'t play it uynless you install Windows on it.

Does it have to be a laptop? Generally you're far better off with a desktop for games.

Yeah, husband would divorce me if it was a desktop - I normally play it on the laptop sat next to him whilst he watches the telly :o

The Sims 3 is available for the Mac (it's actually on the same disk as the PC version).

    These are the Mac specs:

Mac OS X 10.5.7 Leopard or higher
    Intel Core Duo Processor
    2 GB RAM
6.1 GB free hard drive space, with at least 1 GB additional space for custom content and saved games
ATI X1600 or Nvidia 7300 GT with 128 MB of Video RAM, or Intel Integrated GMA X3100

A MacBook should be able to run it with no problems.

Apologies in advance - this is a duplicate of a post in another thread.
Seems that lots of people are looking for sub-600 laptops that are capable of gaming at the moment!

Here is what I believe to be the best sub-£600 fully-featured laptop currently available.
Infact, I don't think such a capable machine has been so cheap in a long while!

    http://www.laptopsdirect.co.uk/Acer_Aspire_7738_Laptop_LX.PFT0X.203/version.asp
Cpu is nothing special, but sufficient. (T6600)
    Ram is nice & fast DDR3. (4GB)
Gpu is a high class-2; so will be capable of playing all modern games when detail is reduced. (GT 240M)
Nice big screen & high res - though not quite Full-HD. (17.3", 1600x900)
All other useful accessories are there, Bluray, HDMI, Wireless-N, bluetooth, Gigabit ethernet, 1MP webcam, etc.
Vista can be upgraded to Windows 7 for whatever Acer's delivery charge is....
    £524.97

    * "FREEDEL" for free standard delivery still works until 23:59 this-evening.
    * Go through Quidco for 2% (£10.50) cashback.

So a grand total of £514.47 delivered.

All this info. is duplicated @ the deal i've posted on hukd, here.

    :edit:

Updated to include the £5 price rise that unfortunately propagated from their sister site acerdirect.

Apologies, I didn't realise they'd released an OSX verison.
