Am new to XP & Dell. Having trouble opening email attachments eg .pps & .xls
".......does not have a program associated with it.....create an association....."is the error message.
So what do I do?

.pps is a Powerpoint file and .xls is Excel, so you need those programs installed on your computer in order to open those files.0

These are Microsoft Office files. .pps is a powerpoint file, .xls is an excel file. If you don't have a copy of Office you can get a free viewer from Microsoft for each of these files. The viewers will let you read these files, but not edit or change them.
