My oven only sets 1 every 3-4 attempts. Its intermitting so chances are if i get tech out it will work first go!!
Has anyone else had problems?
Oven 1 week old - happens everytime, thought it was us no using it correct but been back to the manual to check more then once and definitely doing it right.
model - BO644SS
took 4 attempts to get it on for dinner today - once its on it stays on, its just getting it on in the first place.
Just checking if i am the only one this has happened to or if it is a problem?
thks

My oven does exactly the same. Only installed it a few days ago and takes an age to get it to work. Once its on, it stays on, it's just getting it to that stage that's the problem. I've been through the instruction manual loads of times and I'm sure I'm doing all it says!
Did you get yours fixed or are you living with it!!!!?0 -
Just an update - phoned Baumatic who were aware of the problem on this model (bo466ss) - said they would send a new clock part (apparently this is the problem) to be fitted by an engineer. Will let you know if this solves the problem!!!0

I had the same problem, phoned up Baumatic who sent an engineer round today (only 2 days after calling them). He replaced a PCB with LED & control trimmer to fix the problem.
Seems OK so far.
Apparently it is a known problem with this model in the UK. It is a temperature sensor that detects the ambient room temperature and if this is below 20 degrees, it cuts out. The reason it works after a few tries is that in the brief time the oven is on in the first few attempts, it heats up the air around the sensor enough so that it doesn't cut out. Only a problem in the UK due to our cold weather apparently. New PCB supposed to fix the problem. Doesn't take the engineer long to do.
The new part fitted to mine was: XM0261450400016. PCB with LED & control trimmer.
Hope this help anyone else who has the same problem.0 -
What?
I'm technical on appliances and speccing an oven clock that will only work at an ambient above 20˚C is simply insane! No manufacturer in their right mind would so that.
Under 10˚C maybe, I could understand for Northern Europe as most homes are heated and you don't expect ambients below that but, even at that, I'd have to wonder at the sense of it.
I'm just staggered at someone saying that.

Haven't been that impressed with the quality of Baumatic stuff in general. All our kitchen was Baumatic, oven, hob, dishwasher, fridge, all new about 6 years ago. Has all been pretty mediocre in operation and hasn't lasted well.
Dishwasher needed new board after 4 years (£90 labour), then died last year (outside of parts warranty). Would only clean stuff if placed very strategically and sparsely.
Hob has an issue where if the ignition switch gets slightly wet, it will spark constantly and give you a sharp shock if you touch any of the steel body!
Oven is OK, but the seal has started to go a little now, just blows lots of hot air out from around the door.
Fridge/Freezer keeps frosting up. Constantly get a massive lump of ice at back of fridge. Even on modest settings, temperature varies too much within it. Door hinge goes straight into plastic of door, which has of course worn and stretched into a nice long hole, so no longer hangs straight and fails to close completely unless you lift it up slightly. All of the freezer draws have cracked.
All in all, its a budget brand and you get what you pay for. Don't expect any amazing or to last more than a couple of years. I've been replacing stuff with Bosch and AEG stuff, albeit at twice the price of Baumatic equivalents.0 -

Only 2 days?! I just phoned them and have to wait for 3 weeks. Nevermind.
Here's something I figured out incase anybody else has the same problem,
Turn the Fan Assisted Grill on for a few minutes. This still works and heats the oven up enough for the oven function to work.
Hope that helps.0
