Help needed to get rid of annoying Window appearing on every Startup

Can you please advise, every time I load my Desktop keep getting Windows Microsoft Window Opening with 2 Yellow Folder/Files, one titled Office Live & the other Search Enhancement Pack. Underneath the File & Edit Title Bars is a title EPSON Easy Photo Print, a green printer Icon & Photo Print.

When I click on Office Live I get the following Folder/Files muauth (8Kb) – when I click on this folder all I get is an Authorization Folder – if I click on Authorization it asks me to select a destination , SignIn, OLConnectorResources.dll, npOLW.dll, OLConnector.dll. I get a warning sign telling me that I might damage my system if I open any of the files ending with .dll.

When I click on the Search Enhancement Pack I get a new window with the following folders:-
Choice Guard, SeaNote, SeaPort, Search Box Extension, Search Helper
When I click on any of these I get a similar Window with similar Icons but ending in .dll & I get the same warning message on each one.

The PC which runs Windows XP & is a Dell Diminsion 5000 Pentium 4 3.0GHz with 2.5 GB of Ram, with McAfee Security Centre Protection.

All I want to do is disable this annoying window from opening every time I switch on without doing any major damage to my PC which although a little slow appears to be running OK.
Regards
Pat

install ccleaner, it has a nice easy to use tool that lets you see all programs that start automatically when you boot up, you can then tick the ones you do not want to start. Use with a little bit of care as you don't want to prevent essential processes starting, the ones that annoy you should be easy to see in the list though.

As "buglawton" mentioned, CCleaner is very good application. However, this task can be done without downloading anything.

From Windows/Start/Run, type "msconfig" (without the quotes). This will start Windows XP System Configuration Utility.

    Click on the tab "Startup".

This will give a you a list of programs/processes which start up with windows. Uncheck the ones you don't like to run. If you are not sure about any of the processes, may be google about them before stopping them.
  • That's Piriform CCleaner if you are googling for it.
It's a very good tool for cleaning all sorts of redundant gubbins from your hard drive.
    Everyone should install it.
    Gus.
  • Problem is have had a look at my Start Up List as suggested and there is nothing obvious there that this item can be. Am also a bit nervous of doing possible damage, by disabling something important.

There are multiple startup locations, it's possible that it's in the All Users startup directory

When you click in start - run - startup is there a thing here called Office Live, Epson print manager?

The programs inside this folder are basically programs which are told to launch when your computer starts up, they are not required, they are just additional ones. If it's popping up when you logon , my guess is they're in the startup in start menu.

If you can take a screenshot of this it would help identify it aswell

By the way, as opposed to MSConfig. You can use a small program called StartupCPL, it's a much nicer and cleaner approach to removing startup entries.
