in Credit cards
Well still have two defaults on my credit file. One comes off April this year, one comes off August this year so then no defaults nothing.I have no 1 -2's or 3's on my credit file they are all lovely green 0's Anyhow have mortgage which has always reported green 0's. A loan green O's TSB duo, MBNA, Vanquis, Cap One, Flybe C.Cards all green 0's spending a little every month and paying it off. And a Littlewoods catalogue with green 0's building up nicely.Anyhow have a Nationwide basic account and a Co Op basic account and when I wnet into Nationwide they offered me an upgrade to a "debit card account with overdraft and credit card pre accepted....I declined as I am happy with what I have then wow went into CoOp and same thing so I must be rising up the food chain. Started both of those Oct 07..so good control of accounts proves you can move up the chain. My next question is do I as I move towards "excellent credit" when the defaults fall off do I close some of the credit cards, and whats my next move?

Basically more of the same.
Maybe look into improving the quality of the credit lines to something you can actually benefit from once the defaults disappear completely - like a cashback card where you get the usual section 75 protection on purchases and a bit of cash back along the way.
Personally, I'd close any credit card that I'm not using. You can continue to "use" it by buying something trivial each month and paying the balance in full to continue the line of green 0's."A child of five could understand this. Fetch me a child of five." - Groucho Marx0
