  • I thought the idea was buying things to make profit.................
    Turn £100 to £10,000 in 2010
    Spent: £35 | Earned: £0
    E: £0 - S: £35 = Profit: £-35 / £10,000

  • That's terrific. This thread is proving that with imagination and advice, it is possible to start up a viable business for under £100.00.

Love your website too Amber. It looks professional and gets straight to the point, with a very straightforward pricing structure. P.S you don't look 41.

Oh, I was a mere stripling of 39 when that photo was taken ...

How about concert tickets? Is there any money in buying them full price and selling them for more on ebay?

If you buy through Ticketmaster you are allowed to resell through their other website http://www.getmein.com. You set the price and people purchase through the site. The tickets are then reprinted with the new owners details on. This is better for the buyer because if the event is cancelled or rescheduled they are then entitled to a refund. If you sold through ebay and the concert was cancelled you would be automatically refunded not the new buyer.

It is not illegal to resell tickets but in some cases may go against the tickets terms and conditions set by the promoter. ( I knew that year I spent working at ticketmaster would come in useful one day lol)

Yes, but the venues are trying to stop touting as it forces the price up for people who really want to attend, rather than people who want to make money out of people who want to attend.

e.g. O2 are printing part of the number of the credit card they were bought with on the ticket stub so they can check that the person attending bought the ticket. In the T&Cs it says you have to have that credit card on you and be able to produce it if challenged.

Nearly all venues are sending tickets out only 7-10 days before the concert date to try to discourage people from selling on tickets they haven't actually got in their hands.

Glastonbury print the photo of the person on the ticket to stop them being sold on at inflated prices.

Plus, I have been unable to attend gigs so many times because of touts buying most of them that I find it quite an offensive thing to do anyway. Sorry, but my opinion.

And I edited my previous post about illegality - seems its only footie tix it is actually illegal to resell. Used to go to the footie a lot so that's obviously where the idea got into my head from.

Agree, I nearly didn't get my birthday present this year because of this. i posted a question on the appropriate forum on here and a very kind person suggested Gigantic where I managed to get my tickets for a tiny bit more (it goes to charity).
