Thanks all. For the nosey among you it was this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320474696951&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&autorefresh=true

    Now praying that I haven't made a mistake! I would never make a gambler:rotfl:
Congratulations on taking the plunge :T
I've just been adding up what I've bought to sell on over the past 3 weeks and I've spent £70+. Lots of it not even up for resale yet and all bits and pieces cost between £2-£10. Now, if I'd seen a lot for £70 I'd probably have been too scared to bid, but it would possibly have got a better return. I need to be braver!!

as a newbie, can I ask for some advice ?

I'm getting major negative vibes from dh who thinks I'm wasting my time but I'm hoping it won't be long til he sees the error of his ways !!!

I have sold quite a lot on ebay over the years, mainly used baby things and childrens clothing and at the minute I'm going through the house and making a list of what can go. I'm trying to decide what to put on ebay and what to sell at a car boot. Now here's my question, I have never done a car boot before and wondered what sort of things tend to sell at them, I haven't got a clue. Any ideas ? I just want to organise stuff into boxes, one for ebay and one for a carboot.

    Hi there,
don't be tempted to have to justify what you are doing. The easiest way for you to grab dh interest is slap some money down on the table, say nothing !
This may take a day, week or month....who cares ? Remember to enjoy yourself though, don't bust a gut if you are not enjoying doing it .
As far as carboot items, there are many different views on this one.I will only sell items that are worth £5.00 or more and can often take £300+per carboot sale doing this (and sometimes do 2 carboots in one weekend).
You do see lots of video, babies clothes and ps2 games week after week,so unless you sell very cheaply I guess you wouldn't make much ? (I,m only guessing).
Stalls that have postcards, vintage toys, retro items & similar would IMO do far better.......

    Thankyou

  • wow, congrats China Doll!

Few more sales on Amazon and a £20 win on BB to add to the pot, getting a bit peed off with Paypal now, still haven't sorted my account out despite me sending them what they wanted! So can't list on EBay yet.

Piece of advice for everyone, once your Paypal account reached £1200 recieved, they will block it to investigate activity, don't expect it to work for months afterwards!

Still, heyho, we shall plod on, not fast as I hoped, but still, itching to get everything listed!

well, i headed out to my first car boot sale (as a buyer) got there nice and early....

came back empty handed :( i looked around but found nothing but tat, i dont know what i was expecting, but was really dissapointed :(

i had no idea what i was looking for at all!

    GRRRRRRRR
  • oh wow i really did win £150!!

I signed up to Bingon via quico, you get £20 cashback if you deposit and wager £10, so I thought hey great its an extra £10 for nothing, so had a go on the slot machine as the bingo was taking 10 minutes to load and won £150!!

I have withdrawn £140 and carried on playing on the slots and won a few pounds here and there and then won a bonus game and won £10 on it, I should have stopped there and withdrawn the £10 but there is a £5 withdrawal fee if you try to take out under £30 so I spent it. Luckily I withdrew the £140, as Im sure I would have played through at least another £30 easily...

I don't think I will get my £20 from Quidco though, as I think I was supposed to spend the £10 on bingo, not slot machines...and I wont get the 200% bonus deposit money as you're are meant to wager 4 times the amount you deposit!

Don't forget they also do a car boot near sainsbury's, not sure if its every week though. Oh and theres a really good car boot at Pottington each sunday, not sure when it starts though. Have a look in the journal as most of them are advertised each week.

Was trying to find out when that Brannams one is on but it wasnt in the Journal-typical! Will be going to the Pottington one when its a bit warmer...brrrrr today!
Shame they stopped the indoor one at the Milky Way-I loved that one..mainly coz of the bloke selling hot popcorn...yummy :-)

Just sold a jacket on Ebay for £3.99 ,am bidding on something to resell that finishes in a bit and then will be looking into listing a few of the things I have listed as b.i.n. as auctions to get some interest hopefully :-/

Well done China doll!!!! thats brilliant :-)
  • well done, was just looking at bingo offers on Quidco! You got a lot more than the £10 you went in for! Just seen that Paddy Power has the same offer btw, was contemplating going for, £20 cashback on £10 deposit and playthrough with 200% cashmatch bonus.
