How do I get rid of this file, deleting doesn't work as I get the msg permissions required, even tho' I'm logged on as an admin

Go to the command prompt as admin.
cd c:\
rd /s windows.old
That shoudl do the trick. Did for me anyway.
Just make sure you type the command correctly. It would be a bot of a disaster if you accidentally deleted windows!It's my problem, it's my problem

It also holds all the User data files, docs, photos etc, from the earlier Windows installation ! Are you sure you have transferred everything over?0
