I closed my account in May last year. Is this enough time for me now to be able to re-apply? I was refused a card from Halifax last October - they are not linked are they?

    Halifax is part of Lloyds.

    M&S credit cards are managed by HSBC.

    Different beasts.

    Give them a call and ask - if they say no then it saves a application/credit search on your file
