which washing powder would you recommend?

i've been using persil non bio for ages now but i dont think its great. alot of times the clothes will come out with marks still on them and they never have that lovely freshly washed smell.

what would you recommend, i have two LO's so non-bio it must be. also as money is tight, the cheaper the better.

  • Sorry I can't help as I tend to buy whatever is on offer. Next shopping day, I am going to buy the biggest and cheapest and cut it with Soda crystals....I hear they are good.

Lidl's bio and non-bio are good. The bio was a 'Which' best buy.

  • oh thank you, and is Lidl good cost wise in comparison to the others?

Lidl's for me too. Can't remember how much they are, but they're a lot cheaper than Tesco's (£1 something?), and much more effective. Same with their dishwasher tablets.

I always try to get the best product, for the cheapest price, and Lidl's work.

    Formil Biological (Lidl)

    Persil Bio

    Score 71%

From the 'Which' website. Both are best buys. Hope this helps.

yes that's a great help, thank you. that's going on the list now that my second gigantic box of persil is nearing it's end- eventually.

  • I always use Fairy non bio, not the cheapest, but good value (I only use about 1/3 recommended amount) clothes always seem to come up clean, even at 30 degree wash & I love the smell.

I use Ariel colour - for colours
    I use Fairy for jumpers
I use Daz for whites, sheets & towels (all white), but been thinking if trying Ariel normal/white for whites as I think Daz isn't as good as Ariel.

I only use tablets, as I find them MSE - portion control, otherwise I am heaby handed.
