Just a quick question, which is better interest?

Halifax Web Saver 4.5% but taxable
Halifax ISA 3.55% but tax free?

Thanks.

the web saver if you are a non taxpayer, lower rate taxpayer or basic rate taxpayer. The ISA if a higher rate taxpayer. The ISA rate is rather poor.

The Halifax Isa Saver Direct pays 4.75%. Why not compare that to the Web saver?

I used to have an ISA with Halifax that paid out 3.55%. After discovering that they offer a 4.75% ISA, i immediately phoned up and got my ISA converted to the Direct ISA. This was only a week ago and i'v had ISA open since 4th april this year.

The ISA Direct can only be managed over the telephone or online. I very rarely go into a branch nowadays, and always manage my finances online, therefore i thought it would be reasonable to convert my ISA in return for higher rate.

    I think i made a good move.
