I bought an expensive juicer from Lakeland plastics it extracts the juice well but I hate the frothy "scum" you get on the top , it looks so unappetising.
I want a juicer that will make juice like I've just poured it from a Sainsbury's container, does anyone know of a machine that does the trick?0 -

I think its meant to be like that, it could be the skin- you could try peeling whatever you can to minimise it. Not sure which Sainsburys type of juice you're referring to, but it may be processed in ways you could never imagine to get rid of the skin!
See also this latest news release. Sometimes its worth a bit of scum to avoid one of these?!
Ian: Glad it's worth the extra money, it'll be a long time yet before I get to buy one- better get saving.:idea:I got an idea, an idea so smart my head would explode if I even began to know what I was talking about:idea:0 -

when you put ctirus fruit in, do you have to peel it first? (probly silly question)Willow: I knew it, I knew it, well not in the sense of having the slightest idea, but I knew there was something I didn't know!0

I've got the Anthony Worrall Thompson juicer and I do peel citrus fruit - you would get the taste of it otehrwise. I don't peel pears apples etc and you get scum on the top whatever you do - I find if you pour it slowly out of the glass into another one you leave a lot of the scum behind.
I also have the magic bullet which is fab - I actually haven't used my juicer as much since getting it because I get my fruit fix from sorbets - I buy frozen fruit in bags and spoon some of it into magic bullet with some water and get a lovely sorbet - usually summer fruits- delish! Can't get my three year old to touch it but my teenage nephews love them. What I like about the magic bullet is that you don't have to scrape all of the stuff from around the blade - you just turn it upside down and sahke it free. I can't compare it to others as I don't have them but I love it.
