Rental Dispute

Hi

I'm due to vacate my rental property soon, the reasoning for this is due to diagreements with our landlord, Our landlord is being unreasonable and accusing us of issues that we feel are incorrect, as a result he has been very hostile towards us.
This has made us very angry so if we were to leave the property without cleaning and putting back as the inventory states,(We are prepared to lose our deposit). Could our landlord come back to us and ask for more money if the deposit isn't enough?

Has anybody had the same problems?

Many Thanks

It would be theft if you did not leave the items on the inventory.

I am presuming this is a joke.

I'm talking about condition of the property eg-cleaning windows hoovering, painting a wall back to the correct colour and weeding the garden etc.

why not discuss this in an adult way - and try to sort it out rather than this slyness ?

""Could our landlord come back to us and ask for more money if the deposit isn't enough? ""

oh yes - he could take you to the small claims court and if he is successful and you don't pay what the j udge orders, (PLUS your landlords court costs,) you will end up with a County Court Judgement (CCJ) which will stop you getting credit of any sort (even a new mobile phone ) for 6 years.

if yoi damage the property in any way he could have you arrested for criminal damage

What are the dates of your AST? Are you on a periodic tenancy?
What was your start date? What date would you give notice? When would you leave?

The LL might be due more money because of your AST obligations that must be met.

Who gave notice to who? What is the legal notice situation?

If you are being harassed your LL is breaking the law.
Has anybody had the same problems?
Since you don't really descibe your problems it's impossible to say.

What are the "diagreements with our landlord, Our landlord is being unreasonable and accusing us of issues that we feel are incorrect,"

See Shelter for more of your rights.

Don't lay yourself open to future problems / court action by doing as you are suggesting.
