DMW - has your colleague been suspended?
Were the management aware that you weren't in on the day that the parcel was delivered?
Yes, my colleague was given the exact same letter as me. And yes they were aware that i wasn't in on the day the parcel was delivered. Doesn't seem to matter though!!0 -
I would tell your friend to attend the interview, record it so you have proof it is infact the same job, then see if you can get the company into any trouble.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
That's the theory ...[SIZE=-1]To equate judgement and wisdom with occupation is at best . . . insulting.

And get your pal to ask the question as to why the vacancy has arisen...No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Then in which case can a claim jot be brought on the fact that statutory redundancy proceedures have not been followed, also using the job advertisement, and subsequent job offer/interview to a friend as evidence?
But I am sure that the Job Centre would be interested in this 'redundancy', because I know when I've been planning to advertise there the politically correct hoops I've had to jump through have put me off!Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
To be honest with you , I think you are better off from there, if that is the way they behave. From start to finish they have behaved very badly . I mean what the hell do they think they are playing at by shouting at you both when the laptop was gone? Not very professional behaviour in my book. Nope, you are better off out of there ,please try to see the positive of all this .Mind you they are wasters and I think you SHOULD take them to a tribunal but more stress and just not worth it IMHO move on ,their loss your gain. Who the hell works 46 hrs a week anymore anyhow? Good luck.xXx-Sukysue-xXx0

It takes a rare individual to challenge 'the system' (and win) OP.
The professional and impartial advice you have received from ACAS and the CAB has indicated you're unlikely to win against your (ex) employers.
It seems, from what you have written, that you have certainly been hard done by. What do you want to happen now and how much time/money/energy are you prepared to expend on achieving your desired outcome? Only you can decide if pressing the matter is worth it.
I'd ask for a reference, fantasise about smearing someone in dog plop and then move on.Opinion, advice and information are different things. Don't be surprised if you receive all 3 in response.0
